TN Water Resources Minister counters Anbumani’s claim, lists 15 check dams built under his tenure
Chennai: State Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan hit back at PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss for accusing him of not building any check dams during his tenure and listed out the 15 dams that were constructed across various rivers.
Anbumani Ramadoss, who is on a State-wide campaign tour, had referred to the Minister from the district during his stopover in Vellore and asked if he (the minister) had built at least one dam across River Palar.
In his reply, Duraimurugan said that five dams – Iraiankadu, Poigai, Chenpakkam, Arumparuthi and Thiruparkodal – had come up across River Palar during his tenure as Minister.
He also listed out 10 dams constructed across eight other rivers and named the four dams that were under construction now at Ambaloor, Papanapalli-Chengunikuppam, Ammundi and Veppalai.
