Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar asserted that the doors of Lok Bhavan are always open to the public for redressal of grievances and said he was willing to personally take up their issues with the chief minister. The governor's remarks at a book release function here on Saturday come amid escalating tensions between the Lok Bhavan and the ruling TVK government over his recent review meeting with state officials in Madurai.
"Lok Bhavan is always with the people. Don't feel hesitant. You can come here and share your problems. I will do whatever is possible from my side to resolve them," Arlekar said.
Offering to act as a bridge between citizens and the state, the governor said, "I will certainly contact the chief minister and share with him the plight of our brothers and sisters. I will tell him this is to be done. We will work towards a solution."
He urged the public to approach Lok Bhavan if they had expectations from him or the government, assuring them, "we will do it together".

Responding to the Madurai meeting, Minister for Energy and Law CTR Nirmal Kumar on Friday strongly condemned the governor's actions. Kumar asserted that the governor lacked the constitutional authority to function as a "parallel administration" or independently review state schemes.
The TVK government, led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, subsequently directed officials not to attend such review meetings convened by the governor without prior state approval.
