DMK's Notice to LS and RS for Resolution on Mekedatu

Chennai:DMK treasurer and parliamentary committee chairman T R Balu and DMK Rajya Sabha committee chairman S Trichy Siva have sent notices to the Secretariats of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to bring in a resolution to adjourn all proceedings in both the Houses and take up a discussion on the proposed Mekedatu dam.

The notice issued by the DMK leaders said: "To discuss and pass a resolution on the urgent matter of concern regarding the proposed Mekedatu Balancing Reservoir on the Cauvery River, its impact on the affected state of Tamil Nadu and the need to constitute a tribunal in this regard" all other businesses should be suspended.
