Decks Being Cleared for Dry Port Project at Tiruchirappalli
Tiruchirappalli MP Durai Vaiko informed the Union government that the state government is interested in implementing this project which will give jobs to more than 12,500 persons and indirect employment to lakhs

Tiruchirappalli: Tiruchirappalli MP Durai Vaiko has said the Union government had asked the Tamil Nadu government to send the draft plan for the dry port project at Tiruchy and thereafter the Centre immediately ordered its execution.
Addressing a media conference at Tiruchy on Saturday, he said that unlike the DMK government, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has shown interest in implementation of this project. As both the Central and Tamil Nadu governments are keen, the documentation will be finished shortly, he hoped.
He had met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman five times in this regard and she is positive about the project.
He informed the Union government that the state government is interested in implementing this project which will give jobs to more than 12,500 persons and indirect employment to lakhs.
