Committee To Assess Palani Temple Properties
The announcement was made by HR & CE Minister C Ramesh, who said that action would be taken on the basis of the findings of the committee, to be headed by the joint commissioner in the Trichy region.
Chennai: To put an end to the controversy over the alleged loss of properties belonging to the Palani Dhandayuthapani temple, the State government had announced the formation of a committee with officials from the HR&CE and revenue department to investigate the allegations relating to the illegal registration of temple’s properties and file a report, based on which action would be taken.
The announcement was made by HR & CE Minister C Ramesh, who said that action would be taken on the basis of the findings of the committee, to be headed by the joint commissioner in the Trichy region. Other officials connected with the protection of temple properties would also be part of the committee that had been advised to submit the report at the earliest
Earlier, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami had announced a protest by his party on July 25 to protest against the major allegation of the illegal registration of the temple property by TVK government and demanding a CBI enquiry into it.
He said the protest would be held near the Palani bus stand at the rountana from 9.30 am with top leaders of the party like Dindigul Srinivasan taking part in it.
