CM Stalin Burns Copy of Delimitation Bill, Terms It 'Black Law'
The CM burnt the copy of the bill at Namakkal in western Tamil Nadu, where he is camping in connection with electioneering.
Chennai: Setting on fire a copy of the Bill brought in Parliament to amend the Constitution for implementing the controversial delimitation and hoisting a black flag as part of the State wide protest by the DMK and its allies on Thursday, Chief Minister M Stalin said the fire of resistance would spread across Dravidian land and bring the arrogant fascist BJP to its knees.
On a campaign tour of the State, Stalin was staying overnight in Namakkal where he hoisted the black flag and also set ablaze a copy of the Bill at a gathering of party workers, all dressed in black and raising slogans against delimitation. Stalin, also in black, vowed to fight against delimitation and win unitedly. The agitation was organized hours before Parliament took up the amendment for discussion.
Recalling the fire of resistance against Hindi imposition rising from Tamil Nadu years ago to scorch New Delhi and forcing it to yield, he said that he had reignited the fire by burning a copy of the black law that sought to turn Tamils into refugees in their own land on Thursday.
The fire would spread across Dravidian land, rise and rage, leading to the collapse of the arrogance of the BJP, he said, adding ‘Tamil is the mother of our birth – the blissful Tamil is the flourishing inner fire of our souls!’
A black flag protest by DMK members and functionaries attired in black was held at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai, the party headquarters, led by organization secretary R S Bharati, where, too, slogans were raised against delimitation and copies of the amendment set on fire. Similar protests were held all over the State at various DMK offices and other establishments.
