CM Calls BJP Govt A Permanent Corona

In a Pongal message to his party cadre on Tuesday, Stalin said that he would be attending the Jallikattu event to be held at the world class modern colosseum for the conduct of the Tamil sport at Alanganallur in Madurai that was constructed by the DMK government on January 17.

Chennai: Terming the Union BJP government as a ‘permanent Corona virus’ that had been attacking the State government, Chief Minister M K Stalin said his government managed to overcome its machinations and also the distress brought by the natural disasters to emerge as the country’s number one State, which has confirmed by the statistics published by the various Central departments.

In a Pongal message to his party cadre on Tuesday, Stalin said that he would be attending the Jallikattu event to be held at the world class modern colosseum for the conduct of the Tamil sport at Alanganallur in Madurai that was constructed by the DMK government on January 17.

Also announcing that Tamil Sangamam, the Tamil cultural event promoting traditional and folk art forms, would be held at various venues spread across the State from January 14, he said the exuberance over celebrating Pongal this year was more pronounced because the five-year DMK rule saw the government machinery and the unfailing seasonal rains had brought happiness to farmers.

The government’s goal itself was to break all the permanent barriers sought to be raised by inimical forces and bring permanent happiness to the people of the State and it stood by the farmers and workers, bringing them succor during the natural disasters in the past five years when a plethora of welfare schemes were implemented, he said.

The benefits of those schemes reached all sections of the people and helped them in their development, besides ensuring the overall growth of the people, which was evident from the testimonials of people and experts who opened their hearts at various events like the one commemorating the State as the best in education or the one celebrating ‘triumphant women,’ or the one titled ‘the world is in your hands.’

Since the decade-long darkness that had engulfed the State was dispelled by dedicated toil of the DMK workers, several celebrations had been organized for them at various levels through colourful events and competitions all over the State, he said.

The DMK had been upholding the tradition of Tamils in celebrating the Pongal festival through the organization of events highlighting the culture of Tamils like art and literary festivals and sporting events, he said, calling upon his party cadre to work for the victory of the DMK in the elections.
