CM Vijay Accused Of Breaching Oath Of Secrecy

Chennai: Accusing Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay of breaching his oath of secrecy, DMK’s Rajya Sabha MP and headquarters chief legal advisor, P Wilson urged him r to reveal the official designations of John Arockiasmy and Vishnu Reddy who had been attending Cabinet meetings, review sessions, and other high-level Government deliberations.
In his message on Saturday, Wilson said that while both Arockiasamy and Vijay Reddy hailed from Andhra Pradesh and were close aides and friends of Vijay, they had been allotted chambers near to the Chief Minister’s chamber at the Secretariat while it was not known as to what official positions they held in the Government.
Wilson wanted to know in what capacity Arockiasamy and Vijay Reddy were attending highly confidential meetings, where secret documents were circulated, if they were not Government servants.
Since the Chief Minister had sworn an oath of secrecy, involving the two individuals in the official meetings raised serious concerns regarding compliance with constitutional norms, the Rules of Business and his oath of secrecy, Wilson said.
Let the Chief Minister reveal the official designations of the two individuals and tell the public under what authority they were attending cabinet meetings and issuing directions to officials, he said.
The DMK MP’s statement comes close on the heels of the uproar caused by the appointment of Venkata Narayana K, the producer of the Vijay-starring film ‘Jana Nayagan’ and founder of the Bengaluru headquartered KVN Productions, as Special Representative of the Tamil Nadu government in New Delhi on Friday.
