Chennai Gets 130 New AC Electric Buses, Flagged Off by Vijay

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Tuesday flagged off 250 new buses, including EVs, meant for state transport undertakings.
According to an official release, 130 low-floor, air-conditioned electric buses meant for use in Chennai were flagged off by the CM at the Secretariat.
These buses were part of a Rs 1,337 crore initiative to procure a total of 750 electric buses to mitigate pollution in Chennai, the release said.
Further, he flagged off 120 new buses to be operated by STCs across the state, it said.
The estimated value of the buses flagged off by the CM was Rs 290.08 crore.
