Tambaram: Fake Woman Auditor Held For Collecting Money As IT Payment
A fake woman auditor who collected Rs. 66 lakh from various persons and gave fake receipts to them for Income Tax payment was arrested at Tambaram.

Chennai: A fake woman auditor who collected Rs. 66 lakh from various persons and gave fake receipts to them for Income Tax payment was arrested at Tambaram on Thursday.
One of the victims, Victor Gnanaraj (38), and his brother sold a house belonging to them. They approached a private audit company to pay income tax for the sale and file returns. A woman named Nadhia (39), running the firm, asked them to pay Rs.3.65 lakh for the sale, and it would be returned to them in their account at the end of the financial year.
However, they approached Nadhia when the money was not refunded to their account at the end of the financial year, and she did not provide proper answers.
The brothers felt suspicious and lodged a complaint with the Tambaram police, who investigated the incident. They found that the receipts provided by her were fake and arrested her. The woman, who is a B.Com graduate, was running the audit firm claiming to be an auditor. Enquiries showed that she had collected Rs. 66 lakh from various persons in the last five years under the guise of paying income tax.
