Broken Trolleys, Birds at Dining Tables Add to Passenger Woes at Chennai Airport
The passengers say the money used to buy the food is wasted and they have to go hungry most of the time.

Chennai:Chennai airport passengers are complaining of birds entering the canteens and spoiling the food they are eating, and the long queues to get trolleys since most of them are broken.
Birds like crows and pigeons freely enter the interior areas of the airport and the passengers are unable to keep the food plates on the tables since the birds occupy them. The passengers are unable to drive them away since dozens of birds sit on the dining table at the same time, competing with each other.
The passengers say the money used to buy the food is wasted and they have to go hungry most of the time.
Another major complaint of the passengers is the lack of sufficient number of trolleys to carry luggage. The passengers have to wait for a long time in queues to take their baggage since most of the trolleys are broken. Passengers from Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and London are the worst affected.
When the luggage is placed on a broken trolley, the baggage falls on the floor and the passengers have to go in search of a good trolley. They are forced to shift the luggage to another trolley, wasting precious time and energy. The passengers have posted their grievances as messages on social media with photos.
The airport officials said they had closed the interior areas with nets but the net could have been damaged at some places. The damage would be rectified and the broken trolleys replaced or repaired, they said.
