“I have submitted the report. The government should release it for the benefit of the people. Public debate will begin only when it is released," he told mediapersons on the sidelines of Makkal Isai Vizha

THANJAVUR: Keeladi excavation report should be released by the government to initiate public debate and expert opinion, said Amarnath Ramakrishna, archaeologist, director of archaeology (Greater Noida), and former Keeladi excavator, here on Saturday.
He told mediapersons on the sidelines of Makkal Isai Vizha, organised by Makkal Kalai Ilakkiya Kazhagam, “I have submitted the report. The government should release it for the benefit of the people. Public debate will begin only when it is released.”
"Evidence is there to show that civilisation began from Tamil Nadu. The second phase of urban civilisation began in Tamil Nadu. Iron was discovered by Tamils. This news is now spreading around the world," he said.
“Reports cannot be changed as they are based on evidences. I don’t think my report can be changed. It should be read by people. Now DNA research is going on at Madurai Kamaraj University on Keeladi excavations. This will pave the way for further research,” he said.
He also called for excavations in the Cauvery delta area to know about Cholas.
