The judge L.S. Sathiamurthy directed the Chennai Central Crime Bureau (CCB) to file their counter for the bail petition submitted by the former minister besides another petition seeking the return of electronic gadgets seized from him. In his bail petition, the former minister said the ground of arrest was not communicated to him and no arrest memorandum was issued. He said the police did not comply with the procedure prescribed under section 36 of the BNSS. Mahesh said custodial interrogation was not necessary since there is no specific material warranting his detention.
