Accused In Anna University Sex Assault Case Convicted

The judge M Rajalakshmi stated that sentence will be pronounced on June 2 after hearing the arguments.

Chennai: A lower court here on Wednesday has found Gnanasekaran (37), a biryani vendor, guilty of sexually assaulting a student at Anna University on December 23, 2024. The Court convicted him of all 11 charges, including blackmailing.

The judge M Rajalakshmi stated that sentence will be pronounced on June 2 after hearing the arguments.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) filed the Chargesheet in the case on February 24, which took over probe from the Chennai Police, who arrested Gnanasekaran initially.

On December 23, 2024, the victim, a second year engineering student was with her male friend when Gnanasekaran confronted them.
