Chennai:Taking appropriate legal measures to protect the 69 percent reservation for marginalized communities in educational institutions and government employment was discussed at a review meeting presided over by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, who stressed on the need to expedite steps to safeguard social justice.
The meeting held on the eve of the Supreme Court’s scheduled hearing on a slew of cases filed against the implementation of the State law (45/1994) providing for 69 percent reservation in the State saw the Chief Minister urging the officials to protect the 69 percent quota through expeditious legal measures.
