AI-Enabled Mechanism To Be Introduced To Monitor Movement Of Pilgrims During Ensuring Pilgrimage Season
The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has decided to boost the daily production capacity of “aravana” prasadam by one lakh tins.
TDB president K. Jayakumar announced at a press conference on Thursday that daily production at Sannidhanam will rise from 2.6 lakh tins to 3.6 lakh tins to meet the expected increase in demand during the pilgrimage season, which begins in November.
He added that the increase in production will follow FSSAI norms, and work is already underway to facilitate the additional output. The TDB also plans to stock 75 lakh tins of aravana ahead of the temple’s opening for the pilgrimage season.
TDB taking steps to ensure a smooth pilgrimage season
AI-enabled mechanisms will be introduced at Nilakkal to monitor and regulate the movement of pilgrims. TDB officials held a meeting with the Pathanamthitta SP about establishing an AI-enabled control room at Nilakkal.
The project, which will be overseen by the police, is estimated to cost around Rs 5 crore, and the tender process for procuring cameras is currently in progress. The AI cameras will be installed based on police requirements, and TDB will also set up a waiting pandal at Nilakkal with seating for 6,000 pilgrims.
Gold crown safe
Jayakumar dismissed reports about the alleged disappearance of a 55-sovereign gold crown at Sabarimala, saying the crown was safely kept in the strong room at Sannidhanam. The Thiruvabharanam Commissioner confirmed that the crown was indeed in the strong room. The crown was donated in 2012 by one Vaidyanathaswamy of Tamil Nadu.
The Thiruvabharanam Commissioner of Sabarimala is responsible for overseeing the sacred ornaments of Lord Ayyappa , known as Thiruvabharanam.
