Rapper Vedan In forest Department's Custody Possession Of A Tiger Tooth Pendant
Vedan reportedly told the forest officials that he was not aware it was a tiger tooth pendant, which was gifted to him by a Sri Lankan fan Renjith Kumbidi.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted rapper Hirandas Murali, popularly known as Vedan, was arrested by the forest department in Ernakulam on Tuesday for wearing a tiger tooth pendant.
The rapper was produced before the Perumbavoor First Class Judicial Magistrate Court and remanded in the custody of the forest department for two days. He was shifted to Malayatoor Divisional Forest Office in Kodanad for questioning.
Vedan reportedly told the forest officials that he was not aware it was a tiger tooth pendant, which was gifted to him by a Sri Lankan fan Renjith Kumbidi.
Meanwhile, the owner of the jewellery shop in Kochi where the pendant was made, said he was not aware that it was a Tiger tooth. A person came to the shop and asked to wrap the tooth in silver that he brought along with him.
The jewelry owner said Vedan came to receive the pendant after the completion of the work which was done at a cost of Rs 1000.
The Malayalam rapper and eight others were arrested by police on Monday following a raid conducted at his rented apartment in Kaniyampuzha in Kochi.
The rapper and others were booked after the police team seized 6 grams of ganja from the apartment. The accused have been charged under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The arrested persons were released on station bail after the completion of the required formalities.
The anti-drug team had carried out the raid based on a tip-off that narcotic drugs were being used in the flat.
The songs of Vedan, who was born in a railway colony in Thrissur, mainly feature anti caste oppression themes and issues of the marginalised sections. His songs are hugely popular among the youth, with his stage shows running to packed houses.
