Rain Fury: Retaining Wall Collapses
Two brothers running holiday snack stall killed in Kasargod: Reports

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the district administration declared a holiday due to heavy rains in four districts, including Kasargod, two brothers decided to make some money by selling snacks near a bus stop.
Tragically, their plan ended in disaster when a retaining wall of the bus shelter collapsed on them near Ponoram in Sanchakkadavu, killing Munsir, 9, and his brother Musammil,14. Both were students at Government Higher Secondary School, Adoor, with Musammil in Class eight and Munsir in Class five. Though they were quickly pulled from the debris and taken to E K Nayanar Cooperative Hospital in Cherkala, they could not be saved.
Wahash, 14, a friend who had come to buy snacks, was seriously injured in the incident and is now fighting for his life in a private hospital.
Meanwhile, Kasaragod district has been hit hard by torrential rain. The weather department predicts the area could see 204 mm of rainfall in just 24 hours, and a red alert remains in effect.
