Pinarayi Vijayan, Receiving “Special Treatment” From Modi, Alleges Priyanka Gandhi

“CPM functioning like a 'B” team of BJP in Kerala,” says Wayanad MP

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday criticised Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing him of acting like Narendra Modi’s “B” team.

Priyanka remarked that while central agencies were targeting and pressuring opposition leaders nationwide at the behest of the BJP government, the Kerala Chief Minister seemed to receive special treatment. Questioning what made Left leaders so special, she alleged that Modi, during his visit to Kerala, stayed silent about the gold theft at the Sabarimala temple to shield the CPM-led LDF.

She further claimed there has been no proper investigation into the Sabarimala gold theft, speaking at election rallies in Chirayinkeezhu and Kollam.

The Wayanad MP said Kerala’s health sector has collapsed, and educated youth are migrating to other states and outside the country, unable to find jobs here. She pointed out that farmers are in crisis, essential commodity prices are skyrocketing, and the state government refuses to hear the grievances of poor people, citing the ASHA workers’ movement.

The government, she said, not only silenced ASHA workers but also denied their legitimate demands, including wage hikes. Fishermen in the coastal areas are also struggling to survive.

Priyanka criticized the Prime Minister for not taking a stand on the crisis sparked by the war in West Asia, claiming the Centre has failed to help lakhs of Indians stranded in Gulf countries. She accused the Prime Minister of bowing to the United States and Israel, saying, “Modi does not have the spine to stand up for India. He is succumbing to pressure because of the Epstein files.”
