Parties Gear Up for Celebrations Ahead of Kerala Assembly Election Results

In Kerala’s Malappuram district, Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) workers in Pandikkad are reportedly preparing biryani for nearly 5,000 people.

Malappuram / Kochi: With the counting of votes for the Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry assembly elections scheduled for Monday, political parties have already begun preparations for possible victory celebrations amid confident claims based on exit poll predictions.

In Kerala’s Malappuram district, Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) workers in Pandikkad are reportedly preparing biryani for nearly 5,000 people. Party leaders said 16 large cooking vessels have been arranged and a large tent has been set up to distribute food and host celebrations. They expressed confidence that the UDF would perform strongly in the region.

Meanwhile, in Kochi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are preparing for celebrations by ordering hundreds of laddoos and arranging cultural programmes. The party has expressed optimism about opening its account in the state and winning key constituencies, including Nemom, Kazhakkoottam, Manjeshwar, Palakkad, and Thrissur.

Exit poll projections have indicated a close contest in Kerala, with some predicting a possible shift in power. The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, is facing expectations of a tough challenge after two consecutive terms in office.

Authorities have meanwhile tightened security arrangements at counting centres across the states as results are set to be declared.
