The petitioners argued that women conductors often work between eight and 16 hours a day, spending most of that time standing in crowded buses, making menstruation particularly physically challenging.
They also pointed out that women in states such as Bihar, Odisha and Karnataka already receive similar menstrual leave benefits, and sought a comparable policy for KSRTC employees.
