‘Next Election Already Won’: Rahul Gandhi Urges INDIA Bloc To Focus On Resistance
Speaking at the India Alliance leaders’ meeting in Delhi on June 9, he made these remarks, later shared through an audio clip on his YouTube channel.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized that while political differences with parties like CPM and DMK will persist, there’s still room to collaborate with them on the larger goal of protecting democracy and the constitution.
Speaking at the India Alliance leaders’ meeting in Delhi on June 9, he made these remarks, later shared through an audio clip on his YouTube channel. In his speech, Gandhi said, “We have our disagreements, but if you’re asking me to hug the ex-Chief Minister of Kerala, I cannot and will not because I have an ongoing political fight there.” He stressed the need for flexibility, recognising that there’s a full-scale effort to portray the opposition as weak and disorganised.
His remarks gained importance as the CPM had sent a letter to Mallikarjun Kharge ahead of the India alliance meeting, raising concerns over Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Kharge’s anti-CPM and ‘vitriolic’ attacks on Pinarayi Vijayan during the assembly election campaign.
Rahul emphasized the need to discard the notion that “we are not coordinated or do not act together,” calling it a narrative spread by the BJP and its allies in the media. “It’s not true. I can vouch for DMK—when it comes to defending the idea of India, everyone in this room is committed,” he said. He added, “I have no interest in fighting our allies; you are our friends, we love you. We won the last election in 2025; we did not lose. Nitish Ji’s exit was not because of me or Congress. Soon, the few instruments that still function will stop as the BJP tightens its hold over Indian states,” he warned.
Rahul said winning the next election isn’t a challenge because it’s already in the bag. There’s a lot of anger among the people, and with the RSS taking control of the state, a free and fair win isn’t possible. That’s why the focus needs to be on resistance, tackling issues like CBSE, NEET, and Great Nicobar.
Resistance is the only option when the media, social media, legal system, bureaucracy, and intelligence are all working to keep this government in power. He mentioned having 10 million YouTube followers but said his account is being suppressed.
Rahul admitted there was some gloom among the India alliance partners but insisted they must focus on how to beat the BJP. He said it’s easy if they stand united and resist.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, no one in the room except him believed they could beat the BJP, but now everyone must believe they can win. He guaranteed that state after state, election after election, whether there’s cheating or not, the BJP will fall.
