Lorry Rams Into Railing and Hangs off Bridge in Kerala, No Casualties
The lorry driver sustained minor injuries and has been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment
Kochi: A major tragedy was averted in Kerala as a lorry rammed into the railings of the bridge in Kochi on Thursday. The incident took place on the Thevara-Wellington Island Bridge in Kochi.
According to local reports, the lorry driver lost control of the wheels while overtaking a container truck on the bridge. When an auto-rickshaw came in from the opposite side, the lorry driver turned the vehicle sharply, in efforts to not crash into the three-wheeler.
The lorry driver sustained minor injuries and has been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The incident caused major traffic congestion in the busy road connecting Fort Kochi with the rest of Ernakulam.
The lorry was removed by a crane of Kerala Fire Force and local volunteers.
