LDF Gears Up for Assembly Polls, To Launch Three Jathas From February 1
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the Mission 110 assembly seats plan at the meeting and urged unity among LDF constituents to achieve the goal.

CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan will lead the northern jatha, Jose K. Mani, MP, will head the central jatha, and CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam will lead the southern stretch.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ruling LDF will connect directly with the people from February 1, organising three major jathas across north, central, and south Kerala ahead of the crucial assembly elections.
The decision was taken at the LDF leadership meeting at the AKG Centre on Friday. CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan will lead the northern jatha, Jose K. Mani, MP, will head the central jatha, and CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam will lead the southern stretch. The jathas will travel through the length and breadth of their respective regions before concluding on February 15.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the Mission 110 assembly seats plan at the meeting and urged unity among LDF constituents to achieve the goal. He attributed setbacks in the local body polls to various local factors, not as a referendum on the state government’s performance.
Some Left leaders admitted that overconfidence also hurt the ruling front in the local polls.
The meeting felt the LDF was struggling to counter the propaganda pushed by the UDF and BJP over the Sabarimala gold theft case. Left leaders said the probe, monitored by the high court, is on the right track and assured that the government will not shield any wrongdoer.
Meanwhile, the UDF is gearing up for election mode, with AICC observers Sachin Pilot, Kanhaiya Kumar, Imran Pratapgarhi, and Karnataka Minister K J George appointed to help the Congress finalise its poll strategy. At a leadership camp in Wayanad last week, the Congress set a target of 100 seats for the assembly elections.
