Kozhikode Man Booked for Circulating Morphed Image of Kerala CM Kissing PM Modi’s Feet
The digitally fabricated picture was spread across various social media platforms.
Thiruvananthapuram: A native of Ulliyeri in Kozhikode district, was booked by Kerala police for allegedly creating and circulating a morphed image of Chief Minister V. D. Satheeshan kissing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet.
According to the police, the fake image was shared on May 31 via a Facebook account named “Karunan Chaalil.” The digitally fabricated picture was spread across various social media platforms.
The case was registered by the police under Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with provocation through unlawful acts intended to cause public disorder, and under Section 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act, which pertains to defamation and character assassination through communication platforms. The police registered the case based on a complaint filed by a local Youth Congress leader Shameen Pulikkol and have begun probing the motive behind creating and circulating the morphed image.
