School authorities suspect that ongoing hill highway construction near the campus may have caused the collapse: Reports

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three classrooms and a stage at the Government Upper Primary School in Kodassery Panchayat, Thrissur district, Kerala, collapsed on Friday.

Luckily, with schools closed for the Srikrishna Jayanthi holiday, no students were present, preventing a major tragedy. General Education Minister N. Shamshudeen has asked the Director of General Education to submit a report on the incident as soon as possible.

School authorities suspect that ongoing hill highway construction near the campus may have caused the collapse. A school bus parked on the premises was also damaged.
