Kerala MLA Vazhoor Soman Passes Away

The body will be taken to Peermade.

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPI leader and Peermade MLA Vazhoor Soman passed away here on Thursday following a heart attack. He was 72.

Soman collapsed soon after attending a meeting of the revenue assembly at the Institute of Land and Disaster Management (ILDM), PTP Nagar. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The mortal remains of the MLA will be taken to CPI state headquarters M N Smarakam and will be kept there for the public to pay homage from 7 pm to 8.30 pm. The body will be taken to Peermade.

Soman got elected from the Peermade constituency in the 2021 assembly polls. He defeated Congress candidate Syriac Thomas by a margin of 1,835 votes.
