Kerala boy’s biryani wish goes viral, minister promises menu review
Kerala minister responds to little Shanku’s viral biryani request, promises anganwadi menu review.

A young Kerala boy’s innocent wish for biryani instead of upma at his anganwadi has not only won hearts but also prompted a response from the state government.
Little Shanku, seen in a viral video wearing a small helmet while playing with his bike, adorably demanded "birnani" (his mispronunciation of biryani) and "poricha kozhi" (chicken fry) instead of upma. His mother recorded his request and shared it on social media, sparking an outpouring of love and support from netizens.
As the video gained traction, many people reached out to Shanku’s family, offering him a biryani treat. “After seeing the video, several people called us and offered biryani and chicken fry for Shanku,” his mother told a news channel.
The video also caught the attention of Kerala’s Minister for Health, Woman and Child Development, Veena George. Clearly charmed by Shanku’s request, she announced that the anganwadi menu would be reviewed to include biryani. “The menu will be reviewed, taking Shanku’s suggestion into account,” she said, while also extending her warm regards to him, his mother, and the anganwadi staff.
This heartwarming incident highlights how social media can amplify even a child’s simple wish, leading to real changes and community engagement.
