Former Kerala Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju Passes Away
Ebrahim Kunju died while undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma, kidney issues, and heart ailments at a private hospital in Kochi: Reports

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V K Ebrahim Kunju, former PWD Minister of Kerala and senior Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader, passed away on Tuesday. He was 73.
Ebrahim Kunju died while undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma, kidney issues, and heart ailments at a private hospital in Kochi.
A key Muslim League figure in central Kerala, he served as a minister twice. He first entered the Kerala Assembly in 2001 from Mattancherry, later winning from Kalamassery in 2011 and 2016. In 2005, he joined the Oommen Chandy ministry as Industries and Social Welfare Minister after P. K. Kunhalikutty resigned over the ice cream parlour case.
He later served as the Public Works Minister in the Oommen Chandy-led UDF government from 2011 to 2016.
Ebrahim Kunju’s body will be kept at Najath Public School in Kalamassery for the public to pay their respects, with the burial scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Alangad Juma Masjid cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Nadeera, and three sons: V. E. Abdul Gafur, E. Abbas, and V. E. Anoob.
