Wife Strangulates Hubby To Death In Mysuru, Questioned By Police

The suspicion is that Susheela allegedly strangled her husband at around 2 am on Monday after Nityananda returned drunk and soon fell asleep.

BENGALURU: A teacher at a private school has been taken into custody by Kuvempunagar police of Mysuru city on Monday on charge of alleged murder of her husband by strangulation using a rope before she unsuccessfully tried to project the death as a cardiac arrest leading to the death at her house in HUDCO layout of Kumvempunagar. The teacher is identified as Susheela and the deceased Nityananda (50), a branch manager at a showroom.

The suspicion is that Susheela allegedly strangled her husband at around 2 am on Monday after Nityananda returned drunk and soon fell asleep. Taking advantage of her husband in a drunken state, Susheela is alleged to have strangulated him and projected the alleged murder as a cardiac arrest death. She readied for the last rites of her husband and some of the relatives arrived at the house with garlands to pay their last respects to Nityananda.

The incident came to light after Nityananda’s brother inspected the body and came across injury marks around his neck and informed the police suspecting foul play in his brother’s death. Police took Susheela into their custody to question her over the death of her husband.

Meanwhile, sources said the couple had no children and frequently quarreled between them. The alleged murder is suspected to be over arguments over financial and property disputes. However, police are yet to ascertain the cause and motive of the death of Nityananda.
