Bengaluru: A homemaker has alleged her husband identified allegedly video recorded their intimate moments and ‘blackmailed’ her not to disclose them. About two-weeks back, he divorced her and left the house and has not returned since then.
The marriage took place on December 15, 2024. The man was introduced to the woman’s family by a matchmaker. To the utter shock of the woman, he reportedly threatened to divorce her on the reception night.
The woman said she suspected his behaviour after their engagement when he started to video-record their private moments. When she told him to stop, he threatened to publicise the videos and coerced her to go ahead with the marriage.
His practice did not end after marriage. He also reportedly shared the video recordings with his friends, she alleged. She claimed that he demanded dowry at the time of marriage, specifically a bracelet like the worn by Bollywood star Salman Khan and a two-wheeler.
The woman alleged her husband was close to his younger sister, her husband and another person who interfered in her family matters. She alleged that her husband used to beat her up constantly and “blackmailed” not to reveal his acts to anyone. Puttenahalli police have registered a case and are investigating.
