Vijayapura: Six More Nabbed In Govindpur Murder Case, Total Arrested Reaches 18

Vijayapura: Police on Thursday arrested six more persons in connection with the murder of six people in Govindpur village under Chadachan police station limits, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 18.
Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said the accused have been identified as A1 Appugouda Patil (49), A11 Shankreppa Arakeri (33), A12 Appasab alias Kishan Bhovi (56), A22 Satyappa Biradar (46), A23 Sultan Biradar (24) and A24 Mahesh Biradar (25), all residents of Govindpur village in Chadachan taluk.
Police said the six accused were apprehended on Thursday and produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
Earlier, on June 1, police had arrested 12 accused in the case and sent them to judicial custody. With the latest arrests, a total of 18 accused have been arrested so far in connection with the case.

A group of armed men allegedly arrived at the spot on motorcycles and attacked those present with swords, sickles, machetes and other sharp weapons.
Six persons were killed in the assault, while two sustained serious injuries.
