Udupi: Coconut Falls From Tree, Claims Life Of Toddler

Udupi: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy child died allegedly after a coconut fell on his head while he was being carried by his mother. The incident occurred at Heranje in Brahmavara taluk of Udupi district on Thursday.

According to sources, the mother was on her way to drop her six-year-old daughter for school. She was carrying the one and half year old boy child in her arms when a coconut fell from a tree and struck the child on the head, causing a severe head injury.

The child was immediately rushed to a hospital in Manipal. However, despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries later in the day.
