Two Held With Five Country-Made Pistols, Ammunition In Bidar
Bidar Urban Police Station PSI Taslim Sultana received credible information on Wednesday evening that two persons were near the Ring Road with illegal firearms for sale. Acting on the information, a special team conducted a raid.
Bidar: Bidar police have arrested two individuals who were allegedly attempting to sell country-made pistols near Jnanasudha School on the city's Ring Road and seized five firearms, live ammunition and swords. Police have also booked two more persons who allegedly supplied the weapons.

The police apprehended Amanjeet Singh (21), a hotel employee from near Guru Nanak Temple in Bidar, and Venkatesh alias Venki (21), a student from Shahganj.
According to Bidar SP Pradeep Gunti, five country-made pistols, 26 live cartridges, 10 empty cartridges, five swords, and the motorcycle allegedly used to transport the weapons were seized.
During questioning, the two allegedly told investigators that they had procured the firearms from Balbir Singh alias Sheru (23) of Nanded and Navjot Singh (24), residing near Guru Nanak Temple in Bidar. They also allegedly admitted to having test-fired 10 rounds before bringing the weapons to Bidar with the intention of selling them at a higher price.
Based on the investigation, police have registered a case against all four accused. Amanjeet Singh and Venkatesh have been remanded to judicial custody, while efforts are under way to trace the remaining two accused.
Bidar Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti commended the police team for successfully detecting the racket.
"Firearms can be purchased only through the prescribed legal procedure. Those trying to obtain them illegally will not escape the attention of the Bidar police," the SP said.
