Three Held With MDMA, Hydro Ganja in Udupi
Police said the accused were allegedly supplying banned narcotic substances to customers in Kapu, Udupi, Manipal and Karkala
Udupi: Udupi Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers and seized narcotic substances, including MDMA powder, MDMA tablets and hydro ganja, along with a car used for transporting the contraband, during a raid at Budnar in Udupi City.
The accused have been identified as Vijay Poojary (36) of Pithrody in Udyavara, PA Mohammed Sammas (24) of Harjiddu in Kukkandoor, both in Udupi taluk, and Akash Shetty (20) of Kuntibailu in Miyar village of Karkala taluk.
Based on a tip-off, the operation was carried out by a special team led by Udupi Sub-Division DySP Belliyappa KU and Malpe Police Inspector Ramachandra Nayak, along with PSI Mahesh TM of the Udupi Traffic Police Station.
Police said the accused were allegedly supplying banned narcotic substances to customers in Kapu, Udupi, Manipal and Karkala.
During the raid, the police seized 4 grams of MDMA powder, 3.65 grams of MDMA tablets, 2.5 grams of hydro ganja and 3 grams of ganja. A car allegedly used to transport the drugs was also confiscated.
A case has been registered at the Udupi Town Police Station under Sections 8(c), 20(c) and 22(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as Crime No. 95/2026.
