Three Arrested in Bengaluru for Assaulting Labourer Over Saffron Towel

On receipt of a complaint, Kalasipalya police swung into action and arrested 3 persons.

Bengaluru:Kalasipalya police of Bengaluru city arrested 3 persons of a particular community on charge of assault on a labourer for keeping a saffron towel on August 24 at around 9.30 pm while a police complaint over the assault was lodged on the next day after the assault.

On receipt of a complaint, Kalasipalya police swung into action and arrested 3 persons.

The labourer who came under assault from 3 persons is identified as Surendra Kumar working in a travel company. Three persons questioned Surendra Kumar the reason for him to keep a saffron towel and attacked him with bare hands.

Travel Company incharge Ramji Rao came to the rescue of Surendra Kumar but the 3 persons did not listen and abused Ramji Rao. Even Ramji Rao also came under attack from the 3 persons before they fled from the scene. Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh at a press conference, the moment came to know about the incident, registered a case and arrested 3 persons.

The Commissioner of Police issued a stern warning to the public that police will initiate action treating any incident of people taking law into their hands.
