Mangaluru: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the alleged secret burials in Dharmasthala continued its search operation on Sunday, conducting a mahazar at two service apartments in Bengaluru. The man who first spoke of the alleged burials is believed to have visited these locations several months ago.
According to sources, SIT officials, accompanied by the whistleblower, collected collected certain details from the service apartments in Kindlu and Vidyaranyapura. The whistleblower is presently in SIT custody on charges of perjury.
The SIT, along with the whistleblower, has been in Bengaluru since Saturday, revisiting places earlier indicated by him. On Saturday, the team had carried out a search at the residence of activist Jayant.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Jayant said that for reasons not clear, the whistleblower was not guiding the SIT to the same locations he had indicated earlier.
“He had shown these places earlier to Girish Mattannavar, but now he appears to be pointing to other spots. If the surrounding areas are excavated, the truth will come out. We are confident the SIT will uncover the truth,” he said.
“There must be Dharma and Adharma should be defeated. There were attempts to put me behind bars, but with the grace of Sri Manjunatha Swamy and Sri Annappa Swamy that did not happen. My family has already provided the SIT with all the details sought during yesterday’s mahazar,” he added.
“There are rumors making rounds that some group went to meet the Whistleblower in Tamil Nadu and brought him from there. This is not true,” he said.
