Siddaramaiah’s Exit Was Over Sting Operation Against Him, Claims Kumaraswamy
Kumaraswamy alleged that a sting operation against Siddaramaiah was used by the Congress high command to force the former Chief Minister to quit.

Bengaluru: In a startling claim by Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday stated the reason behind the exit of Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister in May this year paving way for Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to ascend the post was over “a sting operation” in which Shivakumar is said to have played a key role.
Kumaraswamy told reporters in Bengaluru at a press conference that he came to know about the sting operation against Siddaramaiah through some of his Congress party acquaintances.
Prior to his exit, Kumaraswamy said, Siddaramaiah travelled to New Delhi to meet Congress high command and the high command allegedly used the sting operation to force Siddaramaiah to quit.
“Siddaramaiah is a senior leader who served Karnataka for a long period and has a strong following among backward classes, minorities and dalits,” Kumaraswamy said and stated “Yet such a leader became a victim of a sting operation.”
The Congress high command, he said, used the alleged “sting operation” to force Siddaramaiah out of the office in a manner humiliating the former Chief Minister.”
Kumaraswamy alleged “a systematic conspiracy was carried out against Siddaramaiah.
The manner in which his resignation was obtained by the Congress high command was not appropriate.
The Congress party did not treat such a senior leader with the respect he deserved.”
According to Kumaraswamy, D.K. Shivakumar is a master at conducting sting operations.
Through such operations, he is trying to establish control over all the Ministers in his cabinet.
He questioned “Who brought an end to the political careers of Ramesh Jarkiholi of BJP and Congress leader K.N. Rajanna?”
He accused Shivakumar of having considerable experience in conducting sting operations (against his political rivals)” and alleged “Earlier, Cabinet meetings used to discuss development issues.
Today, Under Shivakumar, the discussion has shifted to honey traps and sting operations.
This is the unfortunate situation the State has been brought to.”
