Gadag: The archaeological excavation underway in the historic town of Lakkundi in Gadag district entered its sixth day on Wednesday, continuing to yield fresh discoveries and underscoring the site’s rich historical significance.
Among the artefacts unearthed on the day were a Naga stone, bone fragments, broken pottery pieces, a circular terracotta disc and a red bead, according to sources.
A team of 36 workers was engaged in the excavation, which is being carried out in a systematic and closely supervised manner to ensure careful documentation and preservation of the finds.
The excavation and analysis would continue, with further discoveries expected to help establish the chronology and cultural context of the ancient settlement.
