Police Return Empty-handed From YouTuber's House in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A team of police from Dharmasthala police station of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday came in search of Content Creator M.D. Sameer to reach his house at Hullahalli on Bannerghatta road on the outskirts of Bengaluru city but had to return empty handed since the youtuber was unavailable. Sameer stayed with his mother at a rented house at Hullahalli of Bengaluru.
In July, Dharmasthala police had registered a suo moto case against Sameer over his alleged inflammatory video posts pertaining to mass burials of women/girls at Dharmasthala, a popular pilgrim place. Over inflammatory posts, Dharmasthala police had served notice on Sameer twice seeking his appearance but he evaded appearance before the police.
A team of police personnel led by Inspector Anand reached the rented house of Sameer at Hullahalli at around 8 am. Later the police team spoke to his mother enquiring about the whereabouts of her son. She reportedly told the police Sameer visited the house in regular intervals.
Police waited for Sameer and returned after they were convinced the youtuber had managed to give them a slip. Police team from Dharmasthala left the house of Sameer at around 3.30 pm.
It is said Sameer refrained from using his mobile phone for communication to avoid detection of his location and instead used one of his cousin's mobile phone to communicate.
Meanwhile, a neighbor of Sameer, Asha told reporters, Sameer stayed with his mother more than a year at Hullahalli and rarely interacted with her child. Asha said “It has been a long time since he saw Sameer.”
“I knew he was a Content Creator after seeing his posts,” the neighbor said and stated she interacted with Sameer’s mother often especially during evening hours but never questioned anything about Dharmasthala. Asha said, Sameer’s mother told her she hailed from Ballari district.
