One-Man Judicial Commission Report on Stampede to Be Discussed in Next Cabinet Meeting

11 died, 50 injured in June 4 stampede during RCB IPL win event in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The cabinet meeting on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, decided to take up the One-man commission report of retired judge John Michael Cunha on stampede at the Chinnaswamy stadium for discussion in the next cabinet meeting. The next cabinet meeting will discuss the report and arrive at a decision on stampede at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on June 4.

The stampede killed 11 people and about 50 were injured when a large crowd gathering made attempts to gain entry to the stadium to watch felicitation of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) over the franchise team emerging victorious in Indian Premier League (IPL)-2025 trophy.

The State Government received the One-Man Commission report on Friday, and the report submitted by Cunha is in two volumes. After receiving the report from Cunha in Vidhana Soudha on Friday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated to place the report at the cabinet meeting on July 17.

The cabinet meeting will go through the report and discuss the findings of Cunha, the recommendations the report has made, among other details, said the Chief Minister.
