NBW Issued Against Prakash Raj Over Alleged Multiple Voter ID Cards
Bengaluru: A Bengaluru court has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against actor Prakash Raj in connection with a case alleging that he possessed voter identity cards in multiple states, according to reports.
The warrant was issued by the 48th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court after the actor allegedly failed to appear before the court despite being served summons on multiple occasions.
The case stems from a complaint filed by advocate Dilip Kumar, who alleged that Prakash Raj had voter identity cards registered in four states, including Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The complainant had earlier approached civic authorities and the Election Commission before moving the court.
According to reports, the court took note of the actor's repeated absence during proceedings and subsequently issued the non-bailable warrant. The matter is currently under judicial consideration, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
The case is expected to proceed once Prakash Raj appears before the court and responds to the allegations. Further legal action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing proceedings.
