Nagendra’s Exit Only First Wicket, Another 'Big' Minister To Quit Soon: Vijayendra

Raichur: With the resignation of former minister B Nagendra being projected as its first political gain, the BJP on Tuesday stepped up its pressure on the Congress government, with state president BY Vijayendra warning that another “big” minister in the Cabinet could quit within the next two to three months.
Speaking at the launch of the BJP’s ‘Ballari Chalo’ padayatra in Lingasugur, Vijayendra warned Chief Minister DK Shivakumar against taking the BJP’s agitation lightly and said the party’s fight would continue beyond the 10-day march.
“I want to tell the Chief Minister that one wicket has fallen today. Within the next two to three months, a big minister in the Cabinet will definitely resign. Write it down and keep it,” Vijayendra said.
Vijayendra did not name the minister. However, Leader of Opposition R Ashoka, who was present at the same venue, during his speech said the second “wicket” would be Home Minister Priyank Kharge.
“Within three months, one wicket has fallen. The second wicket is ready to fall — Mari Kharge (junior Kharge), Priyank Kharge,” Ashoka said.
Ashoka alleged that the KPSC recruitment process had been compromised, with government posts being “sold.”
“There is a rate for everything — medical officers, teachers, deputy commissioners and others,” he alleged.
Earlier, speaking to reporters in Hosapete, Ashoka alleged that Priyank Kharge’s name had figured in the examination irregularities.
“Let us see which other name comes out. One wicket has fallen. Three or four more wickets may fall,” he said, claiming that a minister could be forced to resign over the KPSC issue.
