Gadag: A few antiquities and remains were recovered during the ongoing excavation at Lakkundi on Thursday.
The finds included an ornamented broken Naga sculpture with what appeared to be three crowns, bone fragments, a circular terracotta object and a damaged fragment likely to be part of a dome or kalasha.
The findings are being documented for further study and analysis by the archaeology team.
A total of 30 workers participated in the excavation, including 21 women and nine men, while two supervisors oversaw the operations.
The State Archaeology Department has been carrying out excavation work since January 16 in front of the Kote Veerabhadreshwara Swamy temple in Lakkundi.
