MP Police Offer Help To Find Indore Trekker Went Missing at Shivagange

Indore: Madhya Pradesh police have offered to assist Karnataka authorities in their effort to trace a 31-year-old Indore native who went missing four days ago during a solo trek near Bengaluru, an official said on Tuesday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya said that Indore police contacted investigators in Karnataka over the disappearance of Advait Upadhyay, a finance professional, at Shivagange in Nelamangala taluk.
"We received information from social media that Advait Upadhyay, originally from Indore, had gone missing while trekking in Shivagange near Bengaluru. We have contacted the Karnataka police in this matter and offered necessary assistance in the investigation," Dandotiya told PTI.
The Indore police will immediately assist if any assistance is needed in the investigation, he said, adding that they have not yet received any information from Upadhyay's family.
According to officials, Upadhyay, who worked at a financial firm in Bengaluru, was reported missing on August 7.
Upadhyay, a resident of the Begur area, had reportedly informed his fiancee about his Shivagange trekking plan, and had hired a motorcycle for the same.
He is said to have parked his rented bike at the foothills before proceeding uphill. Examination of CCTV footage showed him climbing the hills, police said.
