MLAs Resignation Will Be Accepted In Few Minutes: DKS
Over dejected Ministerial aspirants threatening to resign, the Chief Minister termed resignations are common in politics and stated “None can stop them from giving resignations.” Replying to queries over MLAs of the party on the threshold of resignation, Shivakumar in Bengaluru recalled “I could have resigned when I was not a made in Dharam Singh government and Siddaramaiah. I was denied a ministerial berth.”
BENGALURU: Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday made it clear to the disgruntled MLAs over missing ministerial berths in the cabinet expansion which took place on Monday that their resignations will be accepted by him within a matter of few minutes and asserted “(Congress) Party is more important (than individual interests).”
It may be recalled here, a ministerial aspirant MLA Yeshvanthray Gouda Patil, representing Indi Assembly seat in Vijayapura, tendered his resignation on Monday having missed a ministerial berth.

Adding he said, when Veerendra Patil was the Chief Minister prominent leaders of the party such as S. Bangarappa, Dharam Singh and Mallikarjun Kharge, current president of All India Congress Committee (AICC), were denied ministerial berths. He stated “Didn’t Dharam Singh and Bangarappa become Chief Ministers later.” Shivakumar told disgruntled MLAs, “The situation demands patience.”
The Chief Minister said to revamp Boards and Corporations immediately since terms of Chairman of Boards and Corporations have exceeded the given time. Earlier, they were told that their term will be for two-and-half years and even Ministers who served under Siddaramaiah were also told their tenures will be for two-and-half years.
Meanwhile, former minister S.R. Srinivas, representing Gubbi Assembly seat, announced resignation as chairman of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and stated to gather opinions of his voters prior to contesting Assembly elections are due in 2028.
Srinivas, told a press conference in Tumakuru, expressed displeasure over missing a ministerial berth and in an oblique reference to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the Gubbi MLA stated “Those who are dreaming of retaining power in 2028 should think of giving representations to districts.”
