Man Held Within 24 Hours for Stalking and Attacking Woman in Bengaluru

The woman came into friendship with Naveen Kumar over a social networking site. The accused is a resident of Billamaranahalli

BENGALURU: A 29-year-old Naveen Kumar has been arrested by Jnanabharathi police of Bengaluru city ion charge of allegedly stalking, harassing and physically assaulting a woman and the arrest of the accused came within 24-hours after he allegedly assaulted the woman over his unrequited love.

The alleged harassment from Naveen Kumar is said to have taken place on December 22 at about 3.20 pm near the paying guest accommodation of the woman.

When the woman was walking towards her paying guest accommodation, Naveen Kumar intercepted her and reportedly mounted pressure on her to enter into a relationship with him. After his proposal went unanswered, the accused hit her on her head, back and neck region and also attempted to tear her clothing.

The woman came into friendship with Naveen Kumar over a social networking site. The accused is a resident of Billamaranahalli.

After receiving a complaint from the woman, Jnanabharathi police made the arrest and booked Naveen Kumar under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitha.
