His identity has been withheld as per his request and also for security reasons, and district authorities granted him police protection on Thursday night.
On Friday evening, he appeared in court accompanied by his legal counsel. “Since he is not an accused but a witness, we requested the court to allow lawyers to be present when he submitted his statement. However, his statement was recorded individually,” his lawyer told reporters.
The man has also expressed willingness to show the locations where he claims to have buried multiple bodies. His legal team has urged that exhumation be conducted at the earliest.
