Leopard Attacks Kills A Youth On Nagarahole Periphery In Myusuru

BENGALURU: A youth identified as Harish (24), a resident of Nagapura on the outskirts of Nagarahole National Park in Mysuru died after he came under attack from a leopard.
The animal had strayed out of the National Park on Monday and the incident occurred at around 1.30 pm in Hunsur taluk when Harish was grazing sheep in the fields when a leopard pounced on him. Nagapura is about 4-km from the boundary of Nagarahole National Park.
A senior forest official told Deccan Chronicle the youth was attacked by a leopard and its bite marks were visible on his neck leading to profuse bleeding. Later, he died.
“We have taken the opinion of experts to determine whether it was an attack by a tiger or by a leopard and later it was confirmed the attack was from a leopard,” he said. Autopsy was conducted on the body of Harish.
