Kundapur: 15 Passengers Hurt as Tipper Hits KSRTC Bus
Kundapura police have registered a case and are investigating the incident
Udupi: Fifteen passengers were injured when a tipper truck collided head-on with a KSRTC bus near Shettarkatte turn on the Tallur–Neralakatte stretch in Kundapura on Monday morning, police said.
According to authorities, the KSRTC bus was traveling from Neralakatte to Tallur when the tipper truck, driven by Raghavendra, struck it from the front due to overspeeding and negligence. The impact injured 15 passengers on board, including seven students.
Three of the seriously injured were admitted to KMC Manipal for advanced treatment, while the remaining were taken to Kundapura Government and Adarsha hospitals. The tipper driver, Raghavendra, was admitted to Chinmayi Hospital.
Kundapura police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar visited KMC Manipal. Two patients are reported to be in critical condition with head injuries, while a third is out of danger.
